There’s never a bad time to recycle. Here are some ideas to help you:

Fall

  • Collect cans at back to school picnics, football games concessions, tailgate parties, and Fall Fests.
  • Sell beverages in cans to earn money at Football Games and Fall Fest Concessions and then also redeem the recycled cans after to get twice the bang!
  • American Recycles Day (November 15). Celebrate this holiday by organizing a Recycling Rally.

Winter

  • Collect cans at Winter concerts, New Year’s Eve parties and basketball games.
  • Sell beverages in cans to earn money at Basketball Games and Winter Concerts and then also redeem the recycled cans after to get twice the bang!

Spring

  • Warmer weather and being outside provides a good opportunity for cool, refreshing, easily transportable drinks in cans.
  • Earth Day (April 22). Celebrate this holiday by organizing a Recycling Rally.
  • Collect cans at Lacrosse games and track meets and Memorial Day and End-of-Year picnics.
  • Sell beverages in cans to earn money at Baseball and Softball Games and then also redeem the recycled cans after to get twice the bang!

Summer

  • Have students collect cans over the summer and have a contest to see who can bring in the most at the beginning of the school year.
  • Encourage students to recycle even when they’re not in school in their homes and at events.
  • Collect cans at Fourth of July picnics, parades, carnivals, summer concerts and family cookouts.
